Quick Tip #3: Words with "fore"

Have you ever noticed how many words have the word «fore» in them? No? Well, look at the picture below!

You see, «fore» can appear at the end of a word or, more often, at the beginning. If we look it up in the Oxford Dictionary, it is defined as «situated or placed in front«. For this reason, words like «foresee» or «foretell» mean seeing/telling (i.e. predicting) something before it happens. Others, like «forehead» or «forearm» refer to parts of the body which are situated at the front of the head, or at the front end of the arm.

So there you go! Another quick & useful tip brought to you by Keep Smiling English. ;-D
