So it’s been over a month since this terrible hot weather arrived in Spain and, more specifically, Andalusia. But it’s today that summer officially starts, so we are now more entitled than ever to complain about the heat. Some of you are still snowed under with exams (snowed under… HA! HA!), while others may already be lying on the beach enjoying a well-deserved break. However, we’re all enduring this heat! Oh blimey! How hot is it here in Granada!?! There are times when even the AC (air conditioning) is not enough to ease the uncomfortable feeling of being hot and sweaty. In fact, some are so desperate that they may even welcome some cool cloudy British days!
Anyway, as it is customary in Andalusia to complain about the weather in as many ways as one can think of, here are some expressions to avoid using a simple “It’s (very) hot!”.
Remember that you can add the question tags “isn’t it?” or “right?” to any of these at the end to make them sound more natural when you’re talking to someone.
I hope you find it useful and that you start complaining about the weather in English straight away!
If you know how this heat feels, share this post with other people, so they can complain in English too! Don’t forget to subscribe for more updates and to follow KSE on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest & Google+.
Keep smiling and crank up the AC! But don’t waste too much energy! 😉
